About the Novel:
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane teaches that love, kindness, and loss can change a person's heart, helping them grow into someone who truly cares for others. Edward Tulane is a china rabbit who lives with a girl named Abilene, who loves and cares for him deeply. However, Edward is selfish and only cares about himself. Everything changes when he falls off a ship into the ocean and is separated from Abilene. After being rescued by a fisherman, Edward is passed from one home to another, meeting many different people. Some treat him with kindness, while others do not. As he experiences love, loss, and loneliness, Edward begins to change. He learns to care about others and understands the pain of losing those he loves. In the end, Edward returns to Abilene with a new appreciation for love, friendship, and hope.
