About the Novel:
Wish shows how love and connection can help us find home in unexpected places. Charlie Reese is a young girl who moves to Colby, North Carolina, to live with her aunt and uncle while her father is in prison and her mother struggles to recover. Upset about leaving her sister, Charlie makes the same wish every day, hoping it will come true. Her life begins to change when she befriends Howard Odom and takes in a stray dog named Wishbone. Through her relationships with Howard, Wishbone, and the Odom family, Charlie gradually feels at home in Colby. She learns important lessons about friendship, forgiveness, controlling her temper, and looking beyond first impressions.
